From coast to coast and border to border the Monumental Brass Quintet (MBQ) leaves audiences dazzled with its own spirited virtuousity and soulful artistry. An award-winning ensemble of both the International Brass Quintet Festival’s Rafael Mendez Competition and the Baltimore Chamber Music Competition, the MBQ entertains thousands throughout the United States each year. Critics have commented on the ensemble’s thrilling brass sonority, emotional intensity, and diversity of styles. Presenting a wide variety of concert programs, the MBQ has made numerous radio and television broadcasts, and has recorded three albums.
In Washington, DC, the MBQ has performed at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Warner Theatre, DAR Constitution Hall, Corcoran Gallery of Art, and the embassies of Austria and France. Past national tours have taken the MBQ to venues such as the Woodland Opera House, Woodland, CA; Jocelyn Museum of Art, Omaha, NE; Myrna Loy Center for the Arts, Helena, MT; Eastman Kodak Auditorium, Kingsport, TN; Bidiford Opera House, Bidiford, MA; and the Virginia Museum of Art, Richmond, VA.
